Optimal Health as a Triangle.
Optimal
Health can be compared to a triangle. We are healthy when our structural,
biochemical, and emotional aspects are harmoniously balanced. Each side of
the triangle influences the other two sides.
Subluxations
cause diminished nerve and organ function, which are corrected by chiropractic
adjustments. The second side of the triangle, our body’s chemistry centers around
the foods we eat, the toxins and allergens we’re exposed to. Emotions and
how we respond to daily events are the third side of the triangle.
How do Emotions
Affect my Health?
While
emotions are perfectly normal, they sometimes produce behaviors years later
that are counterproductive to our health. Emotions such as fear, anger,
grief and many others can negatively affect us long after the original
event that caused them. When our body fails to “let go” of these emotions
we can find ourselves with unexplained aversions, self-sabotaging
behaviors, destructive beliefs, phobias and many chronic physical problems.
Normally,
a person can have an emotional trauma, experience the emotion, and release
the event. However, if we’re in a weakened state due to poor nutrition,
accumulated toxins, stress or physical trauma, every day emotions may not
resolve naturally and an emotional trauma can lodge in your body as a neuro-emotional
complex or N.E.C. When you experience an N.E.C., your body can show symptoms
such as anxiety, loss of appetite, rapid heart rate, extensive sweating,
and so on. This can lead to ill health.
For
example, let’s say a young boy was forced against his will to get an
injection in a doctor's office. This adult may now feel tense in any
doctor's office, and may not have the slightest idea why. Just as Pavlov’s dog linked the sound of a
bell with being fed, events and situations in your life can be linked to
emotions and feelings, which can inhibit you from living a healthy, joyful
and quality life.
Neuro Emotional
Technique.
Dr.
Jamieson uses a technique called Neuro Emotional Technique (N.E.T.) to
identify and help you let go of “stuck” emotional patterns. Often patients express immediate relief
following the treatment. Many patients report feeling that a heavy weight
has been lifted from their shoulders. Once the emotional side of the
triangle of health has been strengthened, you can also make enhanced gains
in structural and biochemical health.
The
combination of structural, biochemical and emotional treatments is what Dr.
Jamieson calls “holistic” healthcare.
